Some of the renewable energy is kept in so called grid storage sites, but it cannot meet the charging demand alone. Instead, 70% of the electricity primarily comes from finite resources such as nuclear fission and fossil fuels.

The Wheel, reinvented

Each wheel is equipped with several receiving elements. At any point during rotation, the vehicle can absorb energy provided by the sender with industry leading efficiency. The energy for these senders could be provided by your solar panels on the roof.

Ground Element

Local energy harvesters, such as solar panels and wind turbines, power the ground elements with electricity. The senders within these elements are only active when a vehicle is on top of it.

Upon completing Laurin’s master’s thesis at ETH Zurich, we extracted the numerical results and used them as a blueprint for our first prototype. An impressive 81% of the energy sent by the ground element was received by the wheel. At that point, we realized the potential of this technology to significantly impact the future of transportation. And the planet.
